The effect of vitamin D supplementation on the severity of dysmenorrhea: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Introduction: The effectiveness of nutritional supplements to relieve dysmenorrhea pain has been investigated in some studies. present study aimed review and summarize the available evidence on effect vitamin D supplementation severity dysmenorrhea. Methods: In systematic meta-analysis, clinical trial studies were eligible be included if they examined Academic databases including Scopus, PubMed, ISI international registration systems as well Google Scholar searched from beginning establishment above until July 2022. Findings: five with 368 people (185 intervention / 183 control), primary was investigated. standardized mean difference for group supplement compared control -1.57 a 95% confidence interval -0.67 -2.47. two 107 (46 61 control) secondary difference, 0.66 -1.12 2.45. Conclusion: Considering small number risk methodological bias selected considering wide inconclusive results, there is need design stronger larger sample size.
